Christi Hughton is expected to announce his first Black Stars squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying doubleheader games against Angola.

The games will be played on Sunday, September 21, and Tuesday, September 23 at Estadio da Moeda in Luanda, Angola. The Black Stars will take on Angola in the opener of the doubleheader with kickoff set for 3pm Ghanaian time. The game will be televised live on Multi TV in Ghana while Kwese ESPN will broadcast the match live across Africa.

The Black Stars will then take on Kenya in their following match on Tuesday, September 23. Kickoff for that fixture is scheduled for 8pm Ghanaian time.

The matches come three days after the scheduled launch of the team's preparations for AFCON 2023. The national team will begin training camp on Monday, September 15 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Accra. The team will also train at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in Cape Coast.

"The Black Stars have done extremely well in their previous two games against Algeria and Zambia and will be looking for a better performance against the Angolans this time around," said head coach Stephen Appiah. "I am confident that the team will give it their best shot in the upcoming games and I am confident that we will get positive results."
